Box Elder Maple Burl w/pic

Jennifer@Indy.USA
>This is a piece of Box Elder burl that my dear friend Jim Shaver gave me. It's about 10" diameter and approximately 2" high. It has no foot just a slight depression on the bottom. The figure was mostly pushed to one side of this blank and it makes for a nice contrast on the bowl.

This was the creamiest piece of Box Elder I've ever turned. It was a very lovely piece of wood. Thanks Jim! I'm not sure I did it justice. I was trying to be conservative in what I did with it. Finished with 4 coats of Rockler wipe on gel poly and steel wool in between coats. Comments welcome as always. Thanks for taking a peek.
