Subject:
RFI filter/Powermatic 3520

Doug
>In order to stop the AM radio interference I foolishly bought the Oneway RFI filter - thinking I could adapt to my PM. The Oneway filter is for a single phase motor while it appears that the PM converts single phase to three phase. I now have an RFI filter for sale:).

I got to wondering if the interference is produced and picked up in the house wiring or just impulses thrown out into the air. I turned on a battery operated radio and sure enough there was plenty of interference.

My question is - since the interference is airborne would a filter in the wiring be of any use or is it a matter of somehow providing shielding?

Any electrical gurus out there?
