Subject:
I guess not all maple floats.

Al Crandall --NE of Indy--
>I was headed to the wood stove Saturday evening with an arm load of fuel when I noticed a lot of rippling on the outside of one chunk. It got processed on the bandsaw and roughed into a maple confetti lamp holder. I dropped it in the alcohol tub and noticed that it floated with very little above the surface. Since it was a craft item and I was in a hurry I decided not to weight it down to submerge it. Tonight I retreived it and it was lying on the bottom, completely submerged. Glad I'm not making life preservers out of that stuff.
