Question For Mark Kauder

Barbara Gill, Remlik VA
>I just re-read Dave Smith's article on alcohol drying. What wall thickness did you use for the 16" bowl? What soaking time? About how many gal. of alcohol did it take using the garbage bag as a container?
I think you are right about this being the best approach for these large holly bowls. The alcohol should speed up things a little so maybe I can retain the whiteness of the wood.
Do you know if anyone has tried boiling followed by alcohol?
It looks as if I may have most of this weekend to turn and I want to get this wood turned as soon as possible.
