Subject:
Console Table *PIC*

>Howdy to my turning friends. I am not a prolific turner so I don't have much to contribute here. But I just finished a console table that has some relevance to this forum so I thought I'd share.

The base is black walnut, the top is curly maple. The medallions on the aprons (both sides) are birds eye maple and the medallions on the top are cherry burl. I made a special wood face plate to turn the smaller cherry medallions. The medallions are "inlaid" into the piece.

This was my first integration of turned forms (other than spindles) into furniture. It was a positive enough result that I hope to explore that avenue more in the future.
