link belts & Reeves pulley's

>Well after a conference call with Jet today & a belt distributor, they say that you cannot use a link belt on a reeves pulley, the v style belt is the only belt that will work properly...the v belt fits between the pulley's and that is what makes the spindle spin, a link belt or a flat belt will not have the friction fit between the pulley's and it won't drive the spindle..that is from the 2 reps on the phone..the belt rep, is someone who provides the v belts for Jet now, I think...Dennis
