Subject:
Platform (not political) HELP

Jim Rutten
>Hello all,

My wife has expressed an interest in learning to turn my JET 1014. Problem is I'm 6'3" tall and she's 5'8" tall. I suggested we get the adjustable stand, but she would rather have a platform to stand on. The platform would have to elevate her 4 1/2" (the lathe is a little low for me) Her requirements are that it should be 3' by 4' and "light enough for her to move". I was thinking of making a frame of wood and put plywood on top of it, but I think that would be too heavy. I was thinking about some sort of reinforced plastic something or other but can't think of anything the right height. Any ideas?
