Subject:
Power and plugs??

>Am I missing something here.

Why is everyone having such a big problem with just pulling the plug on the lathe when they leave the shop??

I have never heard of an unplugged appliance starting by itself or giving anybody an electrical shock. It cannot be damaged by electrical surges. It is child and idiot proof. And, no additional electrical equipment is required.

Anyone who has used a UPS on a computer surely realizes that these things can and do fail. And, there are enough burned out travel trailers that had a surge protector to suggest that they can fail.
