>I finished a bowl and a vase from the large chunk of wood I purchased.
I finished them with several coats of Watco Danish oil, let dry a few days then 2 coats of paste wax and finally applied shellac to a cloth and soaked the piece and buffed it quickly before the shellac could dry. All the finishing was done with the piece on the lathe and buffing was done at relatively high speed. I did two coats of the shellac that way. It left a nice shine. Not too shiny but not satin either.
The bowl is aprrox. 10 inches X 3 inches.

Comments and critiques are certainly welcome.
