Glad I Took Advice This Time

>A couple weeks ago I posted about using a faceshield versus just safety glasses and received good advice to get a faceshield. Tonight a 7 inch oak bowl came off the lathe while it was spinning at a pretty good speed. It happened so fast I didn't even see what happened let alone time to duck. The bowl knocked my cheapo Home Depot faceshield half off after getting hit directly in front of my eyes. (I like my eyes)

I thank the group for the good advice and suggest to some other recent newbies to get a shield even if it is an inexpensive one. I have only ever used my glasses or safety glasses for regular woodworking. This is different.
