>Does anyone here have a source for the stepped V pulley with the indexing holes for an old Delta/Rockwell lathe? I've done searches on google and looked at OWWT but haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for. The largest pulley at my headstock has cracked at the rim. Stepping the belt down to the next size and running varying density burl stock at the speed of sound on it isn't going to work and I've got a piece I'm itching to turn. That's not even mentioning the dangers and the on lathe finishing problems I'm running into.

I've also considered a variable speed motor with controller. Any suggestions for someone on a tight budget? I've looked at Friesen but that's going to run me $300 or more and I'll have to rewire an outlet for 220 at a minimum. The 220 isn't that big problem. If the answer is save up then so be it but if there's something else out there I'd like to see it. Thanks.
