Turning Archive 2004

Subject:
Yes, I turn regular wood as well

Mark Kauder. Phenix City, AL
>Here is a really nice piece of Curly Redwood, the one that I recently complained about drinking up BLO. I got it for a dollar at our club raffle. The guy that donated it did so because of the bark inclusion. I think the bark inclusion is a wonderful accent. The bowl is 10" in diameter. The wood is fairly soft, and the curls are different density from the other wood, so after sanding, it has an interesting "Curly" texture as well. Finished with the afor mentioned BLO and then Beal buffed with Carbuba wax.
