dust collection 11

>This is another question I have on dust collection. I keep looking at the overhead just collectors. I can see how they would remove harmful dust from the shop over time but don't see how they would keep the harmful dust out of your lungs while your in there working. It seems to me that the dust would still be circulating around and trapped in little eddies around the machines so you would still be breathing it.

The second part of the question is I am planning to build a downdraft dust table for carving. If I leave that running will it accomplish the same thing as the overhead units. It would still be circulating air out of the shop and through the filter it would just be located differently.
