Subject:
Alternative wood to use?

William
>Greetings!

I am looking to assemble a good miter sled so I can finally try my hand at segmented turning. It seems that baltic birch plywood is the standard to use for the sled or other jigs.

Unfortunately, aside from ordering a sheet online, I cannot find it locally.

What are some suitable alternatives out there that I can find at a local Home Depot, Lowes, 84 Lumber?

Thanks for any input!

William
