Subject:
Mold on my pecan wood

>Happy Thanks giving all.

I have a problem I hope you good people can help me with.
I boiled some pecan pieces after roughing them out, after the boiling I put them in a plastic bag to dry. This was about 5 weeks ago. When I checked on them today they were covered with green mold.I decide to turn one of them to see how for the mold had gone in.There were 2 cracks in the wood and the mold ran into the cracks all the way thru.
Should I have used paper instead of plastic?

What can I do to get rid of the green mold?

I plan on using the alcohol method on the next batch of rough turnings, maybe I'll have better luck.

Thanks for any responses.
