Subject:
Chainsaw safety

>Hey all,

I have arrived at the point where I want to get a chainsaw for my turning needs. It will relieve a lot of the burden that I force onto my bandsaw! Long overdue for me.

Is there a guide or tutoral on how to properly cut a log? I've read up on the safety equipment needed, but I only found generic info on technique.

My needs will be basically to split a log in half, on either side of the pith. Or just cutting down to size. Any special jigs required for this?

Any pointing in the right direction would be great! Thanks in advance

William
