Subject:
Finishing the botton of a large bowl

David Galloway
>Okay, here's the deal. I was turning a LARGE bowl, at least my largest yet, 26 inches diameter. I turned it outboard using a heavy-duty Oneway faceplate. Turned a roughed out blank and set it aside for finishing for my sister in law for Christmas. Look great BUT, what do I do with this large spigot that is left on the bottom from the face place. Someone in my chapter suggested leaving it and putting small dowels in the screw holes. I am wondering about other solutions. I have learned something clearly, but don't want to lose this bowl. Help!
