Subject:
Hurricane Wood Salvage

Dave Winters, Steamboat Springs, CO
>This subject may already have been covered, but what about salvaging wood from all the downed timber from the hurricanes in Florida? I certainly don't want to belittle the great loss and tragedy of the business and homeowners of Florida, but here in the Rockies, we're starved for hardwoods that we can harvest. I'm thinking it might be worth it to haul a trailer down to Fla. and bring back some turning stock. Any Fla. people have any thoughts on this? There must be millions of board feet of good lumber going to waste in landfills and such, no?
