Subject:
Bowl gouges?

Rob in Kansas
>Okay, I'm ready to buy myself a bowl gouge. I've tried to do a search and one of the common suggestions is to get one that has an Elsworth type grind on it. The other comment I've seen is that P&N from Lee Valley is a good buy for the money, but it doesn't have the swept back grind. Would I be better off springing for an Ellsworth type gouge from the start, or the P&N for half the price and as I sharpen work towards the E. style?

Any comments?
