Subject:
bandsaw guides

John Lucas
>I got a used Delta bandsaw several months back and it had the Carter ball bearing guides. I'm finding that these get big chunks of crud on them when cutting green wood. It's got to cause vibration in the blade. For green cutting that's fine but when I switch back to resawing I have to clean the bearings off which is a pain.

Any body have any alternative. I thought about going back to the plain guide blocks because they scrape the crud off the blade if it builds up. Unfortunately I don't have the original guide block housing.

Would waxing the bearins help. I'll probably try that later this week.
