Burning a pattern

Sean Troy
>Hey all, I,m burning a pattern on the outside of a bowl using a fine skew pen. Lots of thin straight lines. Does anyone see any problem with sanding the outside of the bowl after burning to smooth the surface leaving the lines. Is this a do able thing, and what grit paper to use to save the lines. The reason I was thinking of doing this was to get rid of the very slight discoloration I have from burning through the different wood hardness around the bowl. Part of the lines are a little darker in some places due to softer wood here and there. Thanks, Sean
