Anyone have experience w/ Kelton mini center saver

>I'm considering using the kelton center saver to core out some small bowls. The blanks I have range in size from 6-12" dia. and from 3-5 inches deep. Any idea if I can core with such thin blanks? What sizes have you cored and with what woods? What is the size of the motor you used & on what lathe? This week I saw the "standard system" used on a General 260 with a 1 HP motor on some large blanks (16-20 deep). I definitely cannot use the "standard" size on my Jet 1442 lathe 1 HP motor. Any info will be useful. Thanks
