>I have a jet 1442. I found that I can push the speed lever beyond the slowest speed and it gets even slower. If you let go of it, the lever will move itself back to the 400rpm location. I found that a large rubber band made from an old innertube can put enough force on the lever to keep it in this "slower than 400rpm" position. Has anyone else tried this? Is there any reason not to do this? I would ask customer service but I would expect a don't do it response since it was not tested in the factory.
