Turning Archive 2004
>Hi group; We'll I have taken the advice of the group and bought the chuck with the morse taper and jacobs taper shaft. As I was leaving the store I started talking to a turner and he told me that it's a handy tool and always use it in the tail stock but to never use it in the head stock alone (no pressure against it)for the posibility that the chucks have a tendancy to come out of the morse taper flying in some direction.
If I recall correctly I have seem chucks in head stocks in videos?
From a safety standpoint is that correct as I can't find that kind of info in any books??
