Subject:
Bowl for the Governor *PIC*

John Cotten
>I turned this piece earlier this week for a presentation piece for Governor Ernie Fletcher of Kentucky for Arbor Day presentation from the Division of Forestry.

This piece of walnut is approximately 300 to 350 years old. The wood is from a 1830 brick home. This was part of the sill beam of the house, which were all make of walnut. I will be turning several more pieces from these beams.

The bowl measures 10" across, and 8" deep. The natural edge is the outside of the hewn log.

I will be leaving within the hour for the presentation.
