Subject:
Tried my hemlock--too soft

Aage Rendalen
>I asked you about turning hemlock and what to do with a 2:1 ratio of compression wood.

It turned out I didn't have to worry about the latter problem because the hemlock was so soft that I could not get a clean outside of the bowl I began roughing out. It looked frayed and pitiful, and I didn't even try to rough out the interior.

But John Jordan's picture of extreme reaction wood and how to cut it was very useful. Thanks.
