Subject:
Shaker style knob

>Hello.

I made my once-a-year trip over to my little Jet Mini to make a Shaker knob over the weekend for a little cabinet I just made.

Someday I hope to be able to make (little) things on my lathe but this past weekend I realized it had been a while since playing with it (the lathe) and really didn't know what to do.

I poured through some old FWW mags and found a couple articles that helped, and searched FWW site for some answers.

I took some 4/4 cherry stock, turned it kinda roundish, created a 3/8" tenon on one end, took it off the lathe and attached my Nova thingy to it and put the tenon into the Nova so I could work on the actual knob part.

I think I am on the right track but I am having a tough time getting a nice shape. It's not coming out the way my brain sees it...

I made up lots of blanks to practice with/on.

My question is does anybody know if there is an on-line video that walks you through making a simple knob?

Thanks.
Joe
