Subject:
dowel mirror *PIC*

john lucas
>I tried something new on this mirror. I cut 3 grooves using a roundover router bit and then glued a dowel into the grooves, Then I turned the dowel away while I turned the face of the mirror. I have done a similar technique before by drilling holes in the end of the mirror and inserting dowels. This technique uses less wood but is difficult to hold the mirror blank while routing. I may try vacuum clamping to hold it and do it on the milling machine instead of my router table.
