Bowl: Ocean creatures did it! *PIC*

>Opinions, please. This piece is 10-1/2" dia. X 6-3/4" ht. Wall thickness: 1/2". Looks like Douglas Fir-part of a log found after floating in the ocean for quite a while. Photo taken on my kitchen table with regular light from above. Lots of sea shells and sand in the holes, but mostly gone now. This has not been sanded at all--what you see are marks from my bowl gouge, ground sharp, but no attempt to achieve a smooth surface. Soaked for several days in Watco, but fairly dry now. Sort of thought the rough look went with the holes. Question--how would you finish this piece? Should I sand the inside and/or outside smooth, or leave it just as it is?
