>Splitting firewood this past fall, I threw aside a few interesting pieces of white oak that suggested interesting figure. The small bowl here is only 4" in diameter. The base is 2.5", height 1.3". The heavy wood and relatively thick wall (.25") makes it feel nice in the hand even though it is small. Some of the small bowls I've made with thin walls seemed too light to me.

This is from a limb of a 30" diameter tree I had to take down because it was too close to my planned workshop.

I thought this might be interesting since I don't see too much made of white oak posted here.
