>The Smithsonian Craft Show opened today at the old Building Museum (Judiciary Square Metro, north end). I have seen some craft fairs, and this may be the best ever. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone who can get there. It's open through Sunday.

I chatted with Cindy Drozda, Christian Burchard, Mark Gardner, and a number of other turners and woodworkers/sculptors. Also great are the ceramics, glass, metal, fiber art, wearable arts, etc. Leave your credit cards home unless you can handle some serious damage. (DAMHIK -> SWMBO)

I could go on and on, but words cannot express the extent and concentration of sheer beauty. You just have to go and see it for yourselves. The show is just the right size to "view" in 4-5 hours, with time to chat with your favorite artists/craftspeople.

Just do it! ...Gary
