sanding

>Being new to turning I don't have a lot of experience and have gotten a lot of useful information from this site so I wanted to share a hopefully unique solution to a sanding problem. I have been using strips of progressively finer paper to sand the bowls and stoppers I am turning. My problem was that the friction would cause heat and make it uncomfortable to hold the paper to the wood. My solution was to use an old pair of neoprene hunting gloves that provide insulation from the heat but still allow me to have a lot of dexterity. Since the neoprene will compress a bit it helps me to keep good contact with the rounded shapes. Hope this helps.
