Traveling Down Memory Lane

Barbara Gill, Remlik VA
>For the last several days I have been going through bowls roughed out many years ago. Today I found a couple of box elder bowls (still have the red) that came from wood given to me by Gary Hern. A bunch of us had gathered at Phil and Ruth Wall's house in Murphy NC. Gary had picked up his new Stubby on the way down. I watched John Williams turn a hollowform. Terry Daniels brought his great big Tulip Poplar bowl that was large enough for David Propst's young daughter to sit in.

Phil was not doing well. I got to see some of his awe inspiring turnings. Dick Tuttle was still alive. Gary Evans was there too. I am sure I have forgotten some others. That was a great gathering of turners. I, a new turner, was fortunate to be a part of it.
