Subject:
Vacuum chamber

Bill Hale / The Wood Spinner
>If the below formula is true, does that equate to 12.77 PSI on the outside of a chamber with 26" of vacuum?

1 PSI=2.036"Hg (inches of mercury)

My pipe is 20 " Dia. and 30 " long. I will be welding a plate on one end and having another plate milled with a lip so I can use an O ring and drop it into and on the other end. The vacuum will hold it in place. My question is how thick to make the end plates ? I am thinking 1/2 " for the top lid as it will be milled.

Thanks for the help
