>Greeting All! I recently acquired a nice batch of apple wood, some of which has spalted already. I did a hollow form but really wasn't happy with the overall color. Apple is a particularly "blonde" wood. Although I knew better, I finished it with Danish Oil. The definition of the spalt lines blurred , as suspected. I was hoping to add a little deeper color to the light colored wood as Danish oil can do, albeit slight. My question is, how can you add a little color to spalted wood without ruining the spalt lines? Or should I simply accept the fact that when dealing with spalted wood, "It is what it is..."
