maple bowl off the rose engine lathe *PIC*

>So far, each time I put something on the rose engine lathe it is an experiment. Don't know if time will help this, or since there are so many variables and settings to try, I will ever know what the result will be before I turn on the cutter. On the really nice side of this, it takes less than 5 minutes to complete carving the piece. Not a big time investment if I don't like it. This bowl is okay, but maybe the holes are too big for the scale of the bowl. I sure need some more cutters to change that though. The wood was green when I started it today, so I'm pleased that I can make a carved bowl (from wet blank to oiled) in one session. I am pleased that the 1/8" wall of green wood did not tear from the cutter.

Critiques welcome. Spalted, curly maple, 6" diameter, 2 1/2" tall.
