***SURVEY: THE IDES OF JANUARY***

>Yes, folks, it's that time again for our bi-monthly plebiscite on topics of interest to the woodworking community. As you veterans are aware, the drill goes like this: I post a pithy question on a hot topic, you hold forth with your inimitable candor and good cheer, and we throw all the answers into our editorial blender and serve them up to Woodworker West magazine, where they miraculously appear as a column called "News & Views from WoodCentral.com." Simple, eh?

Well, try this month's question on for size:

Green Woodworking?

Has the recent talk about global warming and/or other ecological concerns affected your woodworking? Is your consciousness or curiosity heightened? Have you looked into or switched over to environmentally-friendly materials, supplies or methods of work? Do you think small shops can make a difference? What more can we as a woodworking community do for the sake of the planet?

That's it. Thanks for participating!
