>Just wonder if anybody has ever seen honey bees taking fresh sawdust for the hive to use? I guess it must have enough sugar in it that they can process it into honey.

This group has been working this pile of honey locust, cherry, redbud, elm, and osage orange sawdust for the past couple of days. There were probably twice as many bees today as there were yesterday. I would estimate conservatively that they have moved a half-bushel of sawdust so far.

I never saw anything like it.
