New Beginner Project- Scratch Awl *LINK* *PIC*

Darrell Feltmate
>I have put a new beginner project over on my web site. A scratch awl is a nice tool to have around. I used maple for the handle but fancier woods can certainly be used. Instead of a kit I used shop stuff including a nail for the striker or that long pointy thing, whatever it is called. My father in law called it a striker. Since he apprenticed as a wooden ship builder I assume he knew a lot about wood. Frankly he was amazing in a workshop. There is a simple jig for making the point.
The idea is eventually to have most of the projects by Milton and Wohlers available as instruction pages. I will try to get a video of this one up soon.
