Subject:
Woodworking subscription scam?

Craig Daymon
>First, let me say that Popular Woodworking is one of my favorite magazines and this is in no way meant to shine a bad light on them.

I received a call today asking me to renew my subscription. I said I thought it was good for a few more years. They said that they only call when there are only 2 or 3 issues left. I said I'd check.

I did. My subscription runs out in 2009. I contacted Popular Woodworking and confirmed it. They also said that they never call the subscriber to get a renewal, so whoever I received the call from was not authorized.

Might be someone fishing for credit card numbers. Check your subscription before renewing over the phone.

Personally, I never renew over the phone.
