Subject:
Location of air cleaner

Carole Valentine
>I will probably get as many answers as there are people, but here goes. I am trying to decide where to locate my air cleaner so I will know where to put a ceiling outlet. The lathes will be roughly in the center of the shop. The grinding station will be behind the lathe and the bandsaw to the left of the grinding station in the left rear corner of the shop. These are the biggest dust producing areas. I have been told that the cleaner should be to one side of the room, but I see them everywhere when I go into folks shops. Does it need to be close to the fine dust sources? Does it really matter since the cleaner is suppose to exchange the air 10 times in an hour and the DC will pick up the coarser stuff from these machines?
