Subject:
chuck adapter question

Keith Tompkins
>Hi all, I just bought a (used) Nova Titan chuck, which had been used on a Powermatic 2034. While the spindle size is the same as my General, the adapter is different from my other nova inserts. It has a set-screw to secure it to the shoulder of the spindle, while my others don't, and not as many threads engage when installed as my older adapters as a result of the unthreaded shoulder.

Does Technatool make a special insert for the Powermatic lathe spindle, or have they just changed their design? I can't find anything special listed anywhere.

Also, is anyone aware of a source for a 1 1/8"lefthand threaded insert for nova chucks? For turning outboard....

thanks in advance.
