Subject:
Hollowing tip

>Hi Gang,
Life has been busy, and that limits my time on WC. But I am still managing shop time.

One problem that I run into occasionally, is that after final shaping of a hollow form, I decide that I need to do some more work on it somewhere (usually inside), and dispite using a bowl steady, I am concerned that I may break the bowl off the waste block, or in my segmenting work, I worry that the veneer layers near the bottom will seperate. What to do?

What I do now, is to use bondo to build up around the base of the HF. I make the base thicker, and run it up the sides. This give a great support to the HF, and is very easy to turn off.

It's cheap, too.

Just thought I would pass it on.

Mark
