First Lathe

I would like the best variable speed mini-lathe (price is not an issue but space is), any thoughts which model??? My first thought is the Jet variable speed mini-lathe that I have seen at several shows being used by demonstrators who liked it very much.

I have a very basic set of turning tools already...what else should I ask for? I would hope that these accessories and tooling will be intervhangeable for a larger lathe that I am sure I will step up to later. I hate to buy tooling twice...

I would like to start using it to turn small spindles, knobs, and tool handles.
