Subject:
Hackberry Turning Characteristics??????

>A neighbor has cut down what he says is a Hackberry and has offered me some pieces. It is about 14" at the base and he has cut it into about 16 lengths.

The wood is very white and is somewhat stringy. It is still wet and the pieces he cut last week are still very white on the cut ends. It is not a soft wood and I am wondering how it turns?

Thanks,

Clem
