Another Box Grain Orientation Question

>Based on the responses to my recent posting, I understand the advantages/disadvantages of different grain orientations when making boxes. One of the responses noted that sometimes face grain boxes will display the grain better than an end grain orientation.

Can anyone elaborate what woods species or grain patterns (i.e., crotch, burl, curly, lace) display better with face grain orientation?
