Time for a little scoop *PIC*

Barb Siddiqui
>Hello turners- my work schedule keeps me too far from my shop, but one day I managed to turn this prototype of a coffee scoop, six inches long, from apple. I did the spindle turning and had to slap myself in the forehead ("what was i Thinkin'?) because the Jet mini won't let me hollow out the bowl on a six inch radius handle. Had to improvise and use a 3/8"Forstner bit and carve out the bottom. I'm thinking to make a batch for Christmas gifts, and next time I'll do it right. It was easy though..maybe easier than making a jig to trap the bowl in for hollowing out! I'll see how a 4-1/2" handle looks.
