Subject:
Photographing Works

>The recent digital camera thread reminded me I need some advise on photographing works. I know there is at least one professional photographer out there, so...

My question deals specifically with focus and depth of field. I thought I understood about focusing on the closest point (e.g. front bowl rim) stopped down as much as possible with a longer lens to be able to include the farther point (back rim) in suitable focus. I'm using a couple of 75W daylight floods with fill in flash on the camera, and still have less than desirable results.

All suggestions welcome.
