Cocobolo box.... *PIC*

Mike Stafford
>Here is a little cocobolo box I hollowed with Hunter Tools not so much because I needed a swan neck for the shape but just for the experience of using them on a dense wood like cocobolo. The Hunter Tools seem to really like chewing through dense exotics. The finish coming off the tool just glistens and has a lovely sheen to it. Someone, not me, with really excellent tool control could probably hollow a box and not need to sand it. I am still learning how to use this tool and I was able to get such a smooth finish off the tool that I started sanding at 220. The shavings coming off the end grain were like angel hair and completely translucent.

This box was sanded until it was really smooth and finished with wax. Finished size is 2 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter. Comments appreciated...
