A little OT, Cutting Aluminum Gutter

>I decided to better protect my sprinkler pipes from flying debris. I'm wrapping them in pipe insulation and, near the lathe, I'm going to cut a section of aluminum gutter to additionally shield it.

Anyone have advice on the best way to cut it? Tin snips seem to leave a very jagged edge (at least when used by me). A hack saw with backing?
